Video game bad guy Ralph and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz must risk it all by traveling to the World Wide Web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope's video game, "Sugar Rush." In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet -- the netizens -- to help navigate their way, including an entrepreneur named Yesss, who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site BuzzzTube.
Ralph Breaks the Internet levels up on its predecessor with a funny, heartwarming sequel that expands its colorful universe while focusing on core characters and relationships.

Indra Sathiabalan | The Sun Daily (Malaysia) | Fresh | — | 2019-03-02T01:07:10.000Z | 2019-03-02 01:07:10 | The main story is about Ralph and Vanellope and how their new environment tests their special friendship. | 286132 | J. Olson | Cinemixtape | Fresh | 3/5 | 2018-12-14T02:21:33.000Z | 2018-12-14 02:21:33 | Gets by on the quality of its animation and a few moments of true inspiration. |
Matthew Bond | The Mail on Sunday (UK) | Fresh | 4/5 | 2018-12-10T22:32:10.000Z | 2018-12-10 22:32:10 | The real-life name-checks are a little irritating...and the film is a good 15 minutes too long, but the script is a step up from the original and helped by a brilliantly funny Disney princess scene.
Colby Bryant | Colbybryant.com | Fresh | 7.25/10 | 2018-12-09T06:45:22.000Z | 2018-12-09 06:45:22 | (It's) a worthy successor to the original (even as it becomes a very different thing on its own), and it presents a pitch-perfect lampooning of our current society.
Jim Schembri | 3AW | Fresh | 4/5 | 2018-12-08T01:24:24.000Z | 2018-12-08 01:24:24 | As much fun as Wreck It Ralph was it actually pales in comparison to the sequel, which is such a vibrant, funny, inventive, surprise-filled adventure it reminds you that Hollywood can occasionally get follow-ups right.

Nick Johnston | Vanyaland | Rotten | — | 2018-12-07T14:55:50.000Z | 2018-12-07 14:55:50 | Ralph Breaks the Internet suffers from the same insidious problems that sink almost every internet-related movie.
Allen Adams | The Maine Edge | Fresh | 5/5 | 2018-12-05T21:22:18.000Z | 2018-12-05 21:22:18 | [T]akes full advantage of the breadth of Disney's pop culture holdings ... Vanellope's encounter with all of the Disney Princesses (and yes, I mean all of them) alone is worth the price of admission.
Emmanuel Báez | Cinéfiloz | Fresh | 4/5 | 2018-12-05T18:45:57.000Z | 2018-12-05 18:45:57 | The film merits a second and third viewing for fans of Easter egg hunts. [Full review in Spanish]

Sarah Cartland | Caution Spoilers | Fresh | 3.5/5 | 2018-12-04T02:20:48.000Z | 2018-12-04 02:20:48 | Whereas many of us find the Internet intermittently breaks us, here Ralph's doing the damage. It does go on a bit, moving from one incident to another. Still its cheer, inventiveness and strong female characters hide any cracks (insecurities?) of its own.
Alison Rowat | The Herald (Scotland) | Fresh | 3/5 | 2018-12-03T20:56:05.000Z | 2018-12-03 20:56:05 | The story takes forever to get going, but this animated caper is fizzing with bright ideas, the best of which is a skit featuring all of Disney's princesses.
Edward Porter | Sunday Times (UK) | Fresh | 3/5 | 2018-12-03T20:11:04.000Z | 2018-12-03 20:11:04 | The concept and the jokes aren't great, but there's a whooshing, kid-pleasing flair to the film, and it gets away with a few brazenly commercial nods to other Disney movies.
Brandy McDonnell | The Oklahoman | Fresh | 3.5/4 | 2018-12-03T19:46:20.000Z | 2018-12-03 19:46:20 | Friendship is a timeworn theme of family-friendly films, but Ralph Breaks the Internet handles it with nuance and insight that feels vital in these divisive times when differences of opinion and personality too often lead to broken bonds.
Alistair Ryder | The Digital Fix | Fresh | 8/10 | 2018-12-03T14:30:36.000Z | 2018-12-03 14:30:36 | This is a film that should leave an unpleasant taste in the mouth for any number of reasons, and yet tells a story charming enough to make it easy to overlook the corporate nature of the whole project.
Rob Carnevale | Indie London | Fresh | 4/5 | 2018-12-02T23:45:17.000Z | 2018-12-02 23:45:17 | Ralph Breaks The Internet still rates as a triumphant return for a beloved set of characters that will charm, exhilarate and wildly entertain on its own terms.
Guy Lodge | London Evening Standard | Fresh | 3/5 | 2018-12-02T17:45:20.000Z | 2018-12-02 17:45:20 | Conceptually, it's rather ingenious, with well-aimed barbs at abusive commenter culture and social-media narcissism that adds up to a welcome moral for small fry...
Simran Hans | Observer (UK) | Fresh | 4/5 | 2018-12-02T17:10:18.000Z | 2018-12-02 17:10:18 | [A] charming buddy comedy...

Matt Hudson | What I Watched Tonight | Fresh | 7.5/10 | 2018-12-01T12:35:19.000Z | 2018-12-01 12:35:19 | Though, overall, it lacks the charm of its predecessor, Ralph Breaks the Internet is still a very good sequel from the most unlikely of characters.
Ross Miller | The National (Scotland) | Fresh | 4/5 | 2018-12-01T11:02:14.000Z | 2018-12-01 11:02:14 | Manages to integrate the [internet's] simultaneous vastness & intricacy in a way that's both inventive in pushing the narrative forward & just fun to behold for its own sake.
Stephen Silver | Splice Today | Fresh | 4.5/5 | 2018-11-30T22:03:37.000Z | 2018-11-30 22:03:37 | Equal parts funny, touching, and great-looking, Ralph Breaks the Internet is the rare animated sequel that's better than the original.
Matthew Lickona | San Diego Reader | Fresh | 2/5 | 2018-11-30T21:13:02.000Z | 2018-11-30 21:13:02 | Best of all, the directors don't shy away from the ending their story demands.
Jennifer Heaton | Alternative Lens | Fresh | 7/10 | 2018-11-30T21:13:02.000Z | 2018-11-30 21:13:02 | There are brilliant individual moments of inspiration here that surpass anything done in Wreck-It Ralph, but for the most part it's just a remastering of the first film.
Ed Potton | The Times (UK) | Fresh | 4/5 | 2018-11-30T17:50:56.000Z | 2018-11-30 17:50:56 | The nuanced friendship between Ralph and Vanellope remains the most engaging part of the film, once you've overcome the slight weirdness of a hulking man being best mates with a small girl.
Dorian Parks | Geeks of Color | Fresh | — | 2018-11-30T17:50:56.000Z | 2018-11-30 17:50:56 | Despite all the great things about Ralph Breaks the Internet, the movie gets slightly derailed in the middle act, but it's easier to look past is because you'll likely be focusing on all the Disney easter eggs and nostalgia throughout.
Paul Whitington | Irish Independent | Fresh | 3/5 | 2018-11-30T17:50:55.000Z | 2018-11-30 17:50:55 | A high concept script pokes fun at our online obsessions and Reilly and Silverman resume their voice roles with aplomb.
Robert Roten | Laramie Movie Scope | Fresh | B | 2018-11-30T14:55:34.000Z | 2018-11-30 14:55:34 | There are a lot of funny pop culture references and internet references to go along with the film's central message about the nature of friendship. The story is heartwarming, funny and cleverly constructed.
Donald Clarke | Irish Times | Fresh | 3/5 | 2018-11-30T14:15:46.000Z | 2018-11-30 14:15:46 | A persistent kowtowing to corporate interests flattens the satire. More logos will fly at punters during the film than they are likely to encounter in the preceding commercials.
Scott Davis | HeyUGuys | Fresh | 5/5 | 2018-11-30T12:35:24.000Z | 2018-11-30 12:35:24 | A joyful sequel, one of the best films of the year.
